She's Here!

Bridget Alice Waldron
has finally arrived!

November 27, 2007,
1:45 PM
8 lbs
20 inches

Rather than writing a big long story, let's just be short and sweet, ok? Bridget is doing very well. She hasn't even let out a good cry yet but I keep waiting for it. She has had several visitors including her grandma Alice, aunts Jennine, Megan, Jessica and Linda, uncle Matt, cousin Amanda, great-grandma Dorothy, and Emily Snow. We are expecting others soon :-)

I spliced together the photos and made a short video. If you want to look at the photos individually, I added the photos to our Picasa Gallery (http://picasaweb.google.com/nhwaldron/Bridget).

The End is in Sight

Today was our final doctor's visit before Bridget's arrival. According to the ultrasound, she's measuring 9 lbs. 2 oz. (this estimate can be off 20% in either direction). With her large size, the fact that she hasn't dropped yet, and I'm still only 1 cm dilated, the doctor strongly recommended that I have a c-section. After she ran through the worst case scenario with attempting a normal delivery, I was convinced that it would be best for me and for Bridget to go ahead with the c-section. It is scheduled for noon tomorrow, so we will officially be a family of 3 by early tomorrow afternoon. Right now I'm more scared than excited, but I'm sure that will change as soon as we have a healthy baby to hold in our arms. So look forward to seeing pictures of Bridget very soon.

Our First Christmas Tree

Even though this is our second Christmas since we've been married, we finished putting up our first Christmas tree yesterday. We didn't spend Christmas here last year, so we didn't bother to get a tree, but since we'll be enjoying the holidays here with the best present ever (Bridget), we just had to have a tree. Okay, really I just had to have a tree...Nate's not much of a holiday person. That's why I was so surprised that he wanted to put it up right after Thanksgiving. I'm just glad it got finished before the horrible day we had today (see previous post).

What a Pair We Are

Nate's probably not going to be very happy with me for posting this, but that's just too bad. We're counting down the days of life as a family of two, and today was supposed to be a productive day full of accomplishing all of the last minute tasks that we'd like to get done before Bridget arrives. Sadly, nothing was really accomplished because Nate had the worst migraine he's ever had in his life (and that's really saying something since he's been getting them since childhood and since I've known him averaging 1-2 per week). He was so sick and miserable (I'll spare you all the horrible details), and I hated not being able to do anything for him. I had a friend come give him a priesthood blessing and then ended up taking him to a nearby urgent care to see a doctor. So between his migraine and me being limited in what I can do being 39 weeks pregnant, we were a pretty pathetic pair today. Hopefully we'll still be able to get everything done that we need to in the next couple of days.

The Saga Continues

Today's doctor's visit wasn't what we were hoping for. Dr. Fillerup isn't confident that Kimberly will progress enough in the next week for her to be induced next Tuesday, the 27th. We have scheduled another appointment to see our fabulous doctor and have an ultrasound on the 26th. Depending on the results of the ultrasound, we will either be sent to the hospital to start the induction or be sent home and possibly start planning for a C-section. The doctor is concerned that Bridget may be too big for Kimberly to deliver vaginally, so the ultrasound will help determine that.

Kimberly really wants to deliver Bridget as naturally as possible (meaning there of course will be an epidural) so today's news was a bit devastating. But, we still remain hopeful that Kimberly will progress and Bridget will arrive next Tuesday. So, any of you who want to hope, plead, pray, dance around--whatever it is you do--to help us get what we want, we will be extremely grateful.

The Everyday Life...

This last weekend, after spending all day in a birth preparation class, we met up with our friends, Dustin and Emily, for dinner.
I worked with Dustin and Emily at our favorite place, TCH, before they moved to Idaho. Now they are trying to convince me to find a job in wonderful ol' Idaho Falls. It would be fun to move someplace new and have ready-made friends (and babysitters). We'll have to see what happens.

Another Two Weeks

I just had to add another picture of Kimberly. As you can see, Bridget hasn't dropped at all. Evidently, she enjoys where she's at.

Still on Track

With yet another doctor's visit behind us, we are still on track for November 27th being the date of Bridget's arrival. Last week, Dr. Fillerup was sure that we were going to be able to do it but she is much more confident now. We are keeping our fingers crossed that everything continues to go well.

Kimberly is "so ready" to be done and exteremly jealous that her sister, Jill, who was due two days after her is already done (check out Jill's and Rob's blog here). But, what doesn't kill her makes her stronger, right?

What Kimberly Wants

I got an email from Kimberly today and she said, "This is really short to watch and pretty amazing...I think you should learn how to do it and start folding your shirts this way."

I guess she doesn't like the fact that I hang up all my shirts...

Paul Potts - Surprisingly Amazing

I received an email from my friend Amy...you know the ones that everyone forwards back and forth. But, since Amy generally doesn't forward things, I had to watch. Here it is.
