Felicity's first month has flown by, and she's doing great. Overall, she's a very content baby and has made having two children easier than I imagined (or maybe my expectations were just more realistic this time around). Her sleeping 23 hours a day only lasted about the first week, but it's fun to have her awake a little more so we can interact with her too. For the last couple of weeks she seems to be in a pattern of having 2-3 days where she sleeps really well during the day and night. Then she'll have a day where she's awake almost all day long only taking mini 5-15 minute naps here and there. This is fine except that she wants to be held more which makes it more of a challenge to get things done. The good thing about those days is that she sleeps really well that night - usually giving me one 4-6 hour stretch before waking to eat.
It's also amazing to see how much she's grown and changed already. She still has a lot of hair, but most of the hair in the front is falling out. She's also starting to look less like Bridget did as a newborn (I've thought that and others have said the same). She does spit up a lot more than Bridget did at this age which isn't my favorite. She also gets the hiccups quite frequently. For the first couple of weeks it was multiple times a day every day, but it's started to lessen to maybe once or twice a day now. She's also started to like bathtime now which is an improvement from her crying all through her sponge baths the first 2 weeks.
I can't wait to see what the next month brings - hopefully her sleeping through the night is one of them.
